NRCS certification in South Africa

The Act 5 of 2008 was promulgated in official gazette 31216 on July 4, 2008 and enforced on September 1, 2008. It is controlled by the South African agency NRCS. NRCS is the abbreviation of national regulator of compulsory specification. Its full name in Chinese is the national mandatory requirements management department. Its predecessor was the regulatory department of SABS certification, and later it has become an independent department.
All qualified electrical and electronic products, whether exported or sold in South Africa, must apply to NRCS for authorization as customs clearance and sales pass.
The categories of products requiring NRCS certification in South Africa are as follows:
1. Household and similar products;
2. Information technology products;
3. Electronic entertainment equipment;
4. Hand held electric tools;
5. Wires and cables.
NRCS certification application process in South Africa:
1. Company registration
NRCS registration; Details of registered importers are used to establish a credit mechanism. If the basic information of the manufacturer or importer changes, it should be re registered in time; Non South African companies must apply through agents in South Africa.
