The Institute of standards and industrial research of Iran (ISIRI) is the government department in charge of import inspection in Iran. It is responsible for the formulation of standards, issuing conformity certificates for import and export, auditing the qualification of inspection companies, and monitoring the place of issue and destination of products.
Pre shipment inspection (PSI) is a mandatory inspection requirement of the Iranian government for goods exported to Iran.

Kitchen and bathroom appliances: household appliances, sockets, plugs, water heaters, gas stoves;
Building materials: fire extinguisher, sanitary valve, building steel bar, steel plate, cable, elevator, lighting, industrial switch, cement, safety glass, ceramic tile, cement pipe, cement board, gravel, machine-made brick, concrete additive, coating, aluminum pipe, etc
Requirements for commodity inspection:
When the goods are ready for shipment after production and packaging, the inspection date should be reserved with the inspection agency 3 working days in advance. For the goods that need to issue VOC certificate, the inspection and testing must be arranged in the manufacturer. Commodity inspection mainly includes the following aspects:
(1) Model, specification and parameters;
(2) Appearance quality;
(3) Physical and chemical properties, mechanical properties, electrical properties and other indicators of the test (witness testing or sampling inspection);
(4) Quantity;
(5) Packaging;
(6) Shipping marks and marks (including origin marks, etc.);
(7) Brand;
(8) Others: for example, whether there are goods or contraband that do not conform to the laws, regulations and religious customs of the importing country;
(9) For the whole container shipment, the container loading supervision shall be carried out.
